My 2000 911 is officially dead!

Pourus engine block has renedered my 911 dead. Can anyone tell me, where is the best place to find a rebuilt 3.4, 2000 engine and would a 3.6 engine fit?

Think Chevy LS. It's not so blasphemous in the water pumpers and reportedly makes an absolutely fantastic car.

Can you really find "rebuilt" 996 engines ? I thought they were exchanged by the factory. I know LN engineering is starting to supply bits to redo them, and some shop in the UK started rebuilding them too, but I thought rebuilts in the US were fairly rare - vs used engines anyway... At any rate, there are no space reasons why you could not put a 3.6 in there but I imagine you'd need a different brain, Egas, stuff like that... probably easier to put in like for a like used (3.4), send it to LN for their upgraded bits, and tune it.

Why doesn't Porsche replace it, it's obvious the block was faulty as originally made. In any case they should provide a replacement at cost or less. This comment is probably not helpful.

This is why a whole decade of 911s is lost. '98 to 09 are too much of a gamble for anyone not wanting a potential huge headache and $$$ lost.

Lots of really good platforms in the next 5 to 15 years for doing V8 swaps!

RH is licking their chops, and I bet will do quite well.
