Don,
Thanks for the reference. A few clicks and a copy will be at my local branch library tomorrow (CARL is wonderful). I’ll post a review. Plint, Michael and Anthony Martyr Engine Testing Theory and Practice 1998, Butterworth Heinemann Publisher ISBN 0750640219, US$74.95 Poking around I found this data acquisition system. This would work well with my Stuska dyno. Here is a good knock analyzer for the dyno. Even better engine analyzer can be found. Best, Grady

Hey Grady:
If you are in the market for an engine or chassis dyno with data acquisition system, check this company: www.schenckpegasus.com But beware, with the cost of a complete test cell you can buy several Carrera GTs. |

that dynojet and mustang dynos use so tourque numbers are realistic not skewed by the inertia of the rolling drum, as far as slippind goes we just had a dyno day and we had a 1575 hp chevy truck that put down 827 on motor and 2 stages of 500 hp nitrous with no wheel slip only on our traction bar stap setup which consists of 2 big straps and we used 2 small ones for saftey and thats it, no crazy cross straping and like 20 sets of straps and still have wheelslip, threr is allot of misinformation on dynos out there, here a pick of our dyno the bar that runs arround the back of the car holds the strap system 2 staps run under the car over the axle or bannana arm and attach to that bar and thats it.

Grady,
What advantages do the Hi-techniques system have over the Depac stuff?

Grady,
Sorry you had problems with the link. I do not why. That site has been on the internet for years now. |

the last scca autox I did, there was a portable dyno on a truck.
part of his printout included a time & speed for the 1/4 mile. can they do that with any sort of accuracy when they are not taking into consideration vehicle weight and coefficient of drag? Bill K
