Weber bits
In Wayne's 101 book he talks about bits for Webers not being readyily available unless they are stripped form old carbs. Anybody know where I can get bowl drain plugs, mine are cracked, and some air mixture screws. Are these common parts across other models, Is there somebody making replacements? Thanks

Let me know if any of these places has a good stock on IDA 3C parts. Most of them are still scrounging around, and I have yet to find a good source besides PMO...

Wayne, I just gotta ask thre question, I've seen you refering to PMO before. Who are they or what is it?

Hey, I've been wondering this for a while, and it seemed appropriate to the thread -- I'm wondering why all photos of carbs show tennis balls or covers on them. I understand that this is to block things from entering the carbs, but what about when driving? wouldn't there be a likelyhood of debris entering the system then? or is this just a safeguard against the more obvious nut, bolt, wrench-type things from falling in?
Pardon the ignorance. Jared |
Weber no longer makes 40IDA carbs. PMO took the Weber design and improved upon it and sells 40, 46 and 50mm versions of the "IDA" - $2100-$2300 per pair. They also have ported manifolds, linkage, parts, etc. They don't have a website as far as I know. Here's the contact info:
FAX: 310-394-6313 135 17th St. Santa Monica, CA 90402 The tennis balls? Used just like you said, but in race cars without air filters over the velocity stacks. -- Curt |
