annoying oil leak

I have a really annoying oil leak which is no more than a very small oil loss it looks as though it is coming from the bottom mounting bolts of the integral oil cooler there is no oil coming from above that point to check it out means partially dropping the the engine to gain access but i have a plan B which really is my reason for posting .I obtained some Hi-Gear leaks no more which states it will cure oil leaks in approx 300 miles its made in the USA so thought someone on here may no more about it.Any views on whether this may be a short cut to my problem would be appreciated
Bob

Youre more than likely leaking in the triangle of leaks, thermostat, idiot light switch and breather cover.
The oil cooler gaskets are tough and longer than the area they fit in so theyre crushed in place. The top oil cooler gaskets are under pressure but the bottom one is under gravity flow and suction from the oil pressure pump, so I dont see a leak on the bottom.
Now, you could have a leaking oil cooler.

You could take the fan assembly out and look in on top of the engine in the back. then you would know that it is coming from above. You could also do a partial engine drop to fix the problem.

I would not use any additive to stop an oil leak. Lots of tiny oil passages in these engines. You wouldn't want your cam spray bars to stop "leaking "

I wouldn't use the additive.
If you're sure the leak isn't coming from above, remove and pressure test the oil cooler.

the oil cooler has 3 o rings which can be a source of leaks. I will add to the chorus telling you not to use any kind of stop leak. It may stop the leak, and it may also stop oil from flowing to critical areas.

There is one area behind the oil cooler that can cause a leak. I used JB Weld here.
