What is Wayne building today?

Last time it was the huge murals (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/640537-what-wayne-building-part-2-a.html).

Today, it's wall art out of some spare 935 and 962 bodywork I have. The Brumos bodywork will be hung nose down, while the 962 stuff will be placed horizontal, so that it looks like the car is driving out of the wall. I'm going to make a paper mache mold of a spare 962 windshield that I have, paint it silver, and then put it in place in the nose. Pretty cool! The difficult part, of course, will be designing and fabricating the support structure to hold the bodywork and wheels together. I'll probably need some strong right-angle, L-bracket type steel to mount the 962 front.

I've been thinking of doing the same with the space shuttle nose cones I have laying around but unlike you, I have the windshield also. :D

Wayne makes it pretty hard for one-uppers.

Actually, I do have the windshield, but it's too long, and you can't really cut it, so I'll have to make a mold of it first.

I actually have plans in the works to possibly do the same. More info on this if / when I acquire the car I would be doing this with...

I'll probably work on this some more on Saturday with the kids around. After surveying the setup here, I don't think it will be too difficult to achieve the proper effect. I'm going to leave the body in "as raced" condition. :)

Love the use of extra panels for art! Here are a couple of pictures of a similar project I did for a buddy... The boat was salvaged from New Orleans area after Katrina.

I'm working our Pelican version of this right now. It will be very cool.

I met the owner of this car at the Literature meet here in LA - this car on the wall is a model / copy. Now that I look closer at it (and have been working on the details for our "model", this one is very obviously incorrect. The following details are incorrect or missing:

- air jack port and release knob
- Fire extinguisher pull and sticker
- Electrical disconnect and sticker
- Wiper is in the wrong spot
- Hood and cowl are all wrong (there is no cowl)

It's very helpful that I have a real 935 right next to me here to help compare!

I would love to do something like this, but I don't seem to have any spare 935 or 962 parts lying around the garage. Darn!

Wayne,
Did you ever get the print made of my 935 artwork? Curious how it turned out if you did?
