79 930 question

Hello, I was wondering what a 79 930,that has been sitting for two years that I know of worth? The interior is damn near perfect and it's been covered(outside) all the time, the guy that has it is not very knowlegable(sp?) about this car, it was his brothers that had passed on and now it's his,he says his brother has done alot of performance work to the engine, and used to race it,it's street legal and looks pretty much like stock. It has gold centered BBS wheels on it and very low profile tires, the car is awsome, but kinda dirty so it's hard to tell how great the body looks. Not sure what the mileage is either. I think he wants 15k for it,is that too high? He said it used to run ,but he hasnt started it in a few years. I don't know about you but if I had this car(and I might I would have it sitting in the garage covered. TIA

i was thinking about 15K as i read the post, and then i noticed he wanted 15K for it. it would be good to get it running and driving before you just outright bought it, but he might want more for it then. hmmm, decisions, decisions. bring a charged battery over and see if it will start, or at least turn over. 15K is a pretty good price, even if you had to do some repairs on it, and i'm sure you would have no problem getting that back if you decided to bail later.

those cars in good condition sell for alot more than 15k. i would say that you really wouldn't have to worry about depreciation on that model at all.

if the seller really doesn't know much offer him 10k. tell him the tires are bad from sitting, and tell him the price of an engine rebuild.

of course you have to find out mileage and condition of the body, that may tell a different story.
