Mods to rear valance necessary?

I'm thinking of doing the SW chip, Euro premuffler, and possibly an M&K 2in/2out. I have the stock rear valance on right now and was wondering if the M&K out pipes hang below that or do I need to modify my valance? Any folks having gone that route, would you please post your comments and photos if you have them? Thanks.

I also want to say what a joy it's been joining this community of very helpful and knowledgeable people here. I am amazed by the depth of that knowledge and the speed of sharing here.
Serge

Serge, I couldn't agree with you more on this community of "knowledge".
My friend Greg had an M&K 2in 2out on his '85. You'll need to switch over to SSI's. He removed the valance and shaved off the bottom of the Rubber pads.

BTW, don't know what your experience is on a Porsche...but be VERY careful when removing the heat exchangers. That's IF you choose a two in muffler.

Snapping old rusty, heat cycled exhaust studs is very easy to do and a hard fix.

Any pics of the rear of that car with remove valance and shaved pads?

TIA

If OP is going to use a premuffler, doesn't he need a 1 in/2 out M & K? Lot's of MODs necessary if changing to a 2 in/2 out, basicly from the engine back I believe.

Sorry Mike, Greg's always going too fast for me to get any decent pictures.
He since sold the car and I believe he kept the muffler for his '68 hot rod project.

I wasn't sure if it was possible as I'm new to the Porsche world...1 in 2 out is the way to go then. I don't want to have to do a lot of plumbing changes.

Trog, just what I'm looking for. Nice job. Can you post the procedures you used for that?

As you might imagine, getting those two holes lined-up can be pretty tricky. From memory, the procedure went something like this:

1- Remove old valance.
2- Install new headers and M&K muffler.
3- Measure exhaust tips in the X - Y and Z planes using the bumper as reference.
4- Remove muffler.
5- Install new valance and transpose your measurements.
6- Have a beer.
7- Repeat steps 2-6 a couple of times.
8- Once you realize just how hopeless your measurements are, pray and take your drill and start boring your holes.
9- If you've had enough beers, you might get lucky.

I'm curious because mine is dented and i like the non existent look on your car !

You're observation is correct! I replaced my oil line with the Elephant Racing line that goes over the transmission.
