Help make my lift safe
Lot of searches and feel good about lifting front end to do tie rods. But I was planning to use only two jack stands and lift front only, e brake on, in gear, jack as a back up, maybe some wood or tires as a second back up....do I need chocks at the rear too. Anything else? Thanks

e brake, car in gear and a piece of wood behind the rear tires. You should be just fine.
Make sure you place the stands under a structural area.

You need to get under the car to reach the inside portion of the tie rod, so you never want to compromise safety. You should always use quality jack stands, have a fail-safe backup and chock the wheels on the ground if you get under the car. A jack is not an effective back-up system, take the front tires off and put them under the car, you can probably even wedge a 2x4 in the gap between the tire and the car. Porsche ownership 6 feet below the surface is not very rewarding.
