What is Wayne Building? - Part 6...

The never ending saga of Wayne's distractions from real work. The construction of wall art for the new building continues, this time created from some extra 935 bodywork and wheels that we have had lying around. It looks pretty good so far, I even solicited some child labor!

I've also got some titanium spindles and wheel nuts coming soon to add to the realism:

smiles on kids faces?

Quicksilver 01-03-2012 06:41 AM

And I was guessing it was part of a Playstation/Gran Turismo seat, wheel, and pedal setup.

Man, my last 911 project would have been so much cheaper if I started with plywood.....

Very cool.

redturbo911 01-03-2012 07:32 AM

Keep the pics coming. Its great to see the kids enjoying it as well.

Wayne 962 01-03-2012 11:29 AM

They are enjoying it, although they liked the ramp I made out of the plywood and the back of the truck the best of all!

Neato! What a great project for you & your son!

I'm always wondering what to do with my spare 935 parts too, lol

herr_oberst 01-05-2012 05:14 AM

You wouldn't happen to have an old 904 nose and wheels just laying around that I could copy your idea with do you?

tobluforu 01-05-2012 05:26 AM

Just think about how lucky wayne's kids will be when they are old enough to take those cars out on the track.

Wayne, that looks like hell. Wait, glasses on. No, looks fine. Good stuff.

Hey, when are we going to see you again on Fchat? We know you've sold your car but you need somethin else with a horse on the badge to keep you honest (not a mustang either)

Have you looked at a PORSCHE badge int the last 40 years ... it has a horse

lvporschepilot 01-06-2012 10:34 AM

Indeed it does. Apologies as my vernacular must have gone misunderstood. To state my intentions more obviously, he needs another car with a horse badge.

interesting fact about that,

Stuttgart's name derives from Stutengarten, an ancient form of the German word Gestüt, which translates into English as stud farm and into Italian as scuderia. The Porsche relation is obvious, the Ferrari relation comes from the fact that the early cars were stored in racing horse barns. The horse its self comes from a WW1 plane of the son of a woman Enzo met at a race. The graphic is common but Ferrari did not steal it from Porsche as some have speculated. And Porsche sure didnt steal it as that has been the coat of arms of Stuttgart since the 1300's. It is interesting that both companies use a horse logo, and I always liked the fact that it shows the history of racing cars and there original storage in horse barns which was a common thing around the dawn of auto racing.

Regards
Dave

Wow Wayne you gave me some good ideas my wife is gonna kill me I have a complete 2.7 L motor (seems nobody wants 2.7 parts anymore) and when I get done with my next project I will have a complete front clip from my car so I will do what you did with my front clip and use the H-1 headlights I have to light up my work bench and the 2.7 I think I will clean up and polish it best I can and clear coat and then use it to make a base for a coffee table.
