I just converted a set of Koni's from the rear of a '70E to fit the rear of a '75. It's an easy fix, if you own some machining equipment.
The ride improved immediately. WHY? The old shocks were new. The car was a Euro-ride height specs. The Ride was awful. The reason turned out being a new set of Woodhead shocks (Blue). These shocks were original equipment on the '77. The original '77 was raised beyond factory range of adjustable suspension settings. I know, I had one. To make up for this the top of the front struts had an Aluminum plates mounted on them. In checking the compressed length of the rear shocks, the Konis were at least 3" shorter than the compressed length of the Woodheads. The moral of the story is that the Woodheads (blue) wont work at the Euro-height ride specs. (These are the same ride spec heights as the 69'-73' cars) I hope all of your projects turn out a well as this one did. Good luck, David Duffield |
