What are the first 3 digits of the VIN? 128 = 1968 129 = 1969

He's asking $4000 which isn't out of line if the body is reasonably solid. Unfortunately, most similar cars have major underbody rust issues.
This might be a neat car to bolt in a 1835 or 2135 hot VW engine into and just drive and enjoy. While the CL pics aren't the greatest, I've seen lots worse looking ones for more $$$. If it wasn't so far away I'd check it out in person...like I need another project! (not) ![]() I do have a soft spot for these old SWB 912's...
