how much of a problem is this o2 sensor
Hi guys,
Posted a similar image a few days ago, this is what i found on further inspection. The plastic is broken, on the pin receiver ( I don't know what it is called ), the wire is tight and is not broken. Do I need to replace this? Or, can I just plug in the oxygen sensor wire? Smog test on Wednesday. Any help would be greatly appriciated. can i epoxy this with no problem? As long as it is electricaly OK you can just plug it in for now. It is very common for this to fall apart from age and heat. Some have soldered and used heat shrink. Here is a link to one guys repair from a couple of years ago. The one wire is the signal of the o2 sensor, there are also 2 wires for the o2 sensor heating, which brings it up to operating temperature sooner.

Yeap,..as ugly as it looks, it's a matter of what she's signalling...
STILL,..out, it goes! Best! Doyle |
If you can try to build it up with some JB weld or epoxy. It was specially designed to take an air sample.
If you fail solder a bullet type connector but make certain the solder is rock solid as not to get errand readings |

I hear if you buy 02 sensors from Autozone, they come with a lifetime warranty!
