1987 Porsche 911 Window off track?

Hi,

My 87 porsche 911 driver side window is now working properly.

I can hear the motor working when I press the switch on the door, but the window doesn't move. I can slide the window up and down with my hands, but that is the extent of it.

Also, I press the window switch a certain amount, then I can move the window with my hands that amount, let's say half way down. Then I press the switch again a little down, and I can move the window with my hands down a few more inches.

How can I fix this?

Thanks!

It sounds like your window popped out of the channel which is attached to the regulator. Pull the door panel and you should be able to see whats going on.

You will need to get inside to door to fix it.
Most likely either the window separated from the track frame or the arms separated from the track.
try this:

Do you think that if I pull the door panel that I can easily fix it from the inside?

I looked at the documentation on the door panel removal and there are a few things to do, but it doesn't look hard. The regulator stuff looks tricky though.

that happened on my 87. The glass popped out of the channel. I used some windshield adhesive to glue it back in the channel. The window channel felt is probable old and not allowing the window to slide easily. I'd change the felt as long as you're in there. The window will have a lot smoother slide.
