my understanding is that the lens needs to match the bulb/reflector assembly behind it.
An H4 has one bulb with two filaments that provide both high and low beams. H1, on the other hand, has two bulbs, one for high beam and the other for low. Some headlights also have a separate small bulb to provide parking light illumination. So, you need to be sure the LHD lens matches the assembly's innards. MOST lenses will have "h4" or "h1" inscribed in the glass |

My understanding is that the H1 reflector allows separate adjustment for Hi and Lo beams....but that wouldn't be a function of the lens. My natural reaction would be to replace the RHD lens to a LHD lens but not try to change anything fundamental. In other words, if it came with RHD H4's, change out to LHD H4's...if it came with H1's, stick with H1's. Cheers
