Auto Union Book
Auto Union & Porsche (the Auto Union GP cars were designed by Dr. Porsche) fans, this book is incredible -- Auto Union GP Race and Record Cars, Their Reconstruction and Restoration. I picked up a copy this weekend.
The book tells the tale of 4 restored/rebuilt Auto Unions. Includes some history, some 'found in the barn' stories (the barns being located in former Eastern Bloc countries!), stunning photos, and Crostwaite & Gardiner in the UK who did the restorations. They built bodies, chassis, etc. using only photos and drawings. They even cast a new block from scratch for the V16 motor - this included 35 separate cores and a quarter ton of molten metal!!! After reading this book, you will be inspired and any 911 project will seem like mere child's play! -- Curt |

There is also a really show called The Silver Arrows of Zwickow (sp) on Speedvision. Some vintage film plus modern stuff from Goodwin. I also have an artical describing the road speed record attempt by Rosenberg.
I gotta get that book!! Keith
