A tribute to Harvey Weidman
Just got my wheels back from Harvey Weidman and I am completely blown away by their incredible beauty. The care and craftmanship that he puts into wheels is simply incredible. They have a flowing kind of smoothness that is pure Fuchs sex. Tons of overzealous adjectives leap to mind that would leave me gushing like a school girl, so I'll let the pics speak for themselves below.
Harvey took a set of early (heart) deep sixes, widened the rears to 7R spec with a pair of donor flat sixes, gave them the RSR frosted anodize and mounted 205F/225 rear S03's. As the last piece of my previous life, I can't wait to get these on the E next spring. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Those look horrible, Shaun! You absolutely must get rid of them immediately! Send them to me and I'll take care of them. I've got it covered. Trust me. Really.

Nice Shaun! I recall you telling me your plans for the 7R treatment in back! Now if you can just source the 2.8S we were talking about...

Just stunning, Shaun.
My tracking info indicates that an H. Weidman signed for my wheels on August 15...so they should be back just in time for Christmas! I've got a set of RE050s waiting...

Nice.....Eventually I'll get to that point! If you don't mind my asking, what did the "7R" conversion cost? I'm emailing you about the gauges.....Cheers-Scott

Jim, send me your address, I'll get the wheels boxed up and out to you on Wednesday.
![]() Jonathan, the 2.8 is slated for '08 right now. How's your summer been? Beautiful wheels and car Ian! the 7R conversion isn't so bad at all. I don't think Harvey would want me posting prices, especially ones over a year old (perfection does take time), but you'd be surprised at the conversion cost. It's the RSR anodize, etc. that's going to get you, but really, some of the best $ I've spent/will ever spend on the car. Dave, I hope Santa is good to you this year! Dave, yes, I believe it's just 1 inch to get the 7R wheel from a deep 6, but I'd bet Harvey could custom make a width within reason for you. For some reason 7.75 sticks in my head. But it's not a band he welds in, but the deeper half of a flat 6 to add the offset, so only one weld, which was a work of art in itself.

Bob Tilton has had great success duplicating the look with just a standard scrub pad I think, but then anything Bob touches or is on or even near his car looks great. ![]()
