1984 911 Carrera 3.2

Hi to all,
Looking at buying a 1984 911 3.2 in South Africa.
As per the cars booklet the chassis number seams correct.
I need to check the engine number: can anyone decode this: 41E00072

Thank you,
I'm new at this, does that mean that it's not a 911 3.2 engine that sin the vehicle?
What is a ROW 84 944 engine?

Thank you. I will check the actual engine number on the engine itself.
Can you tell me what the interior trim code: P5 stands for?
I know that the paint code P5 is the Grand Prix white.
I am trying to check everything I possibly can on the vehicle to make sure it's as genuine as possible. The engine number concerns me as the booklet has the correct chassis number on it.
The seats are material but have " Porsche" written all over them. I have never seen that before. Did that trim ever exist?

A 944 engine is four cylinder, in line, water cooled unit....quite different than an air cooled flat six. I'm not getting what's going on..where are you pulling these numbers from? Any documentation is BS unless the car's numbers are the same. Identification plates on the vehicle itself would verify what you need. Stolen or dodgey salvage cars often have weird incongruities in documentation or serial numbers (ie. numbers from other cars to hide the cars past). Not saying this is the case but I bought a 1970 Mini Cooper S years ago and the numbers didn't jive ....stolen, lesson learned. Cheers

Nik911 yes those seats did exist usually on the face if the seats and the backs are usually vinyl. I have an 84 carrera and thats the same trim i had when i decoded the interior. Dark blue interior.

Wow!
Thank you!
I have already confirmed the chassis number with the plate on the car and will be checking the actual engine number tomorrow.
Where is the engine number imprinted on the engine?
Thank you for the help on the seats. It is a dark blue interior.
The vehicle has 125000km on it.
Anything else I should be looking out for?
