Question CMW Cylinders

I'm in the process of building a 3.2 ltr from a 3.0 ltr motor and I'm searching for 98mm P/Cs. Andial has a set of Mahle 10.5:1 but retail is around $3500. CMW has there own cylinders with J&E Pistons but I do not know much about CMW's parts. I could save a good bit of money going with CMW. Does anyone have any experience with CMW's work? I appreciate the help. Thanks!!

As long as you order the cylinders WITH the pistons that have been built FOR the cylinders, then you should be OK. JE is quite reputable in the racing scene. I think it's just a matter of ensuring the pistons they make are exactly matched for the cylinders.

Good luck!

Thanks Guys! There are a couple of new Mahle Distributors in the states. I found out that Andial no longer has the exclusive rights to the Mahle P/Cs. The other distributors should get their first shipments within the next couple of weeks. I'm going to try and wait until then to see what kind of prices they will offer. They claim they will be much lower than Andial. We'll see. Again, thank you for your responses!

According to CMW's web page, a set of 98mm Pistons & Cylinders is $3200. compared to $3500 for Mahle.

Now I am a fairly cheap bastard, but for $300 dollar difference, I would go with Mahle. When a company's product is the standard by which all others are judged, it is usually for a good reason. For me, all it took was the pics someone posted of a 180,000 mile engine teardown with the original crosshatching still visable in the cylinders.
