911 drivers side door wont lock

Sorry if this has been asked before. . .fitting different cards to 1983 911. Was previously locking fine both with key and manually internally. Fitted replacement door handle which works fine - turns door latch when lever is pulled. But lock won't go up or down now with key or with the twist handle inside. Been a few weeks since the old card was taken out as been having a full respray - tried wd 40 in case just stiff but no joy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
