Mechanic recommendation
Can anyone recommend a good Porsche mechanic in the SF bay area? I'm sure there are many, but I'd prefer one in the city or somewhere on the Peninsula. I'm looking to buy my first Porsche and when I find it, I want to get an expert opinion and PPI.
Thanks in advance. -jay |

Jay--
in the city itself, you could try the Stable down the peninsula, I've heard good things about Heyer (Mountain View) up in Marin, try SCargo east bay there's Valhalla (Lafayette - shop I frequent), ******** Stuttgart (Moraga), Kahlers (Dublin), Deutsche Motorsports (Concord) I can only speak firs hand about Valhalla - I've been very happy with the work they do. I'm sure others on the board have additional insights. good luck!

I used the Stable when I purchased my car. Great place, normal p-car hourly rates.
I can't find their number or address at the moment, but if I do I'll post it. Cheers, and good luck in your quest! |

Hello Jay,
Have you concidered Don Wise at "CT Automotive" formally known as (Carrera Tech) They are located in Campbell. This guy has a very good rep in the Loma Prieta and Golden Gate PCA. Check him out. Quality work, Honest and reasonable rates too. Good Luck Jorge (Targa Dude)

www.gdracing.com/ in San Bruno.
Haven't gotten work there (budget) done but looks like a pretty together shop. |

I recommend German Motorsports in Fremont, but Fremont is pretty much hell and gone from San Francisco.
Another data point, small as it is, one of the SC's I was looked at when I was shopping, the owner worked in San Bruno and used GD Racing as his mechanic. He had nothing but praise for them. His car was in good mechanical shape too. Tom |

If you are in the North bay, I highly recommend deJung Motorsports in Cotati (north of Petaluma). The owner Steve knows his P-cars! 707-664-8002
