MFI Question

Just disassembled the MFI in my 70E and the rocker arm that connects to the throttle rod is completely loose. I suppose there used to be a bushing in there somewhere. Where can I get a replacement?

Also, the throttle bodies and butterflies look pretty good. Just a little wear on the linkage balls. There is hardened black and white crud inside that is resistant to carb cleaner. Any suggestions on solvent to remove this junk?

Thanks to the encouragement from this board I've decided to keep the webers on the shelf and stick with the MFI. I understand the workings of the pump much better with everything apart.

A soak in Berryman B-9 maybe? Have you tried spraying on carb cleaner and using a toothbrush?

I soaked mine in B-9 for a few minutes to get rid of all the sludge but that may not have been the best idea as I believe there are some plastic parts related to the bushings. I think they survived although my throttle (bellcrank??) bushing is shot also.
