Steering column Bearing has excessive movement, got the plastic insert now what?

Out of the blue the steering wheel in my 78 sc developed alot of excessive movement. I bought a bushing insert a while back figuring I would need to do it sooner or later, and the time has come. Assuming that the bearing is in good shape, is the bushing all I need? Are there any tricks to make the job easier? Thanks....TargaEuro

do a gallagher on the plastic bushing, they're crap. use the metal 928 bushing. it just slips in. pelican has them.
