Wheels.
Highland Plating painted the centers,
and chromed the outer rim on our 7&8 ten years ago. No problems, and we live at the beach with lots of salt air. Also, waxing after each wash helps a bit. |
chrome fuchs
I had my Fuchs chromed about 6-7 years ago because I had painted them a couple of times and just decided to make a change. I sent them to place in California (which I can't remember) and they were quadruple chromed. The car has been sleeping for awhile and I recently revived it. Hopefully they will hold up and weren't weakened during the process. the cost as I remember was $175 per wheel which isn't too bad.

Here are polished Fuchs (modified). Dry them after washing so they don't spot and they will look great for years.

I have chromed alloy wheels on my 'other' car, and yes, the poor quality chrome is deteriorating in the bead area causing leaks. I have to pay extra to have special sealant applied every time I install new tires - but it starts to leak after a few years anyway.
If you decide to chrome your wheels - make sure you get a GOOD QUALITY chrome job done. |
Looking for one chromed 16x8 if anyone has one laying around. Cheers.
