This has a lot to do with where you are selling the car.
Here on the north west coast I see SC asking prices as high as the mid-low 20's. In Canada prices increase by 10 - 20%. And yes - colour is important when you are trying to sell a car for a premium price.

$24K, if the miles are accurate and the condition is commensurate with the miles.
A 60K mile SC should be very, very clean. (I'd have said $25K but deducted $1K for having a turbo tail on a non turbo body car) ![]() |

Oh - I see you are buying not selling.
$20K tops. It's been said they are all $20K cars...

Deduct the cost of removing the abortion which would include a new decklid and paint to match.

If you ever find "the" car you're going to have so much wrapped up into it emotionally after your search/quest that you'll be terrified to drive it.

Wrap it in black vinyl to protect the black paint, then get a bra to protect the vinyl, clear for the window glass and lights, wear gloves and a Tyvek suit while driving....

You guys!! Thats right. I'm going to be completely mental if I get this car. I remember almost hyperventilating after I scraped one of my Hayabusa"s cans while backing the Ninja up. I was livid! Almost punched myself

No such thing as "the" car. Find something you like for a fair price and don't look back. Pull the trigger, then fix what needs fixed, then start "enjoying" the car...thats the part your missing. Good luck with the search.

1980 911 SC
|
Back before my Pelican days......... for as long as I could remember......... I wanted a Porsche 911. I had never driven one and didn't know anything about them; I had never even sat in one. I was experienced with early VW bugs, and I knew Porsche were "something similar". So I felt I would be OK working on it myself. I live in no man’s land, home of the used car lots. Back then, before our little beach community was "discovered" you never saw a Porsche in this area unless it was a doctor or lawyer from DC just cruising in for the weekend. It was a rare sight.
So, you can imagine the dis-belief, when I noticed a 911SC on the local used lot between an old Jeep and a pickup truck. It was black with a whale tail. I went thru every emotion possible. From the excitement of seeing one, to the sheer terror that someone else might buy it. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. So...........I bought it......... No haggling, no PPO, barely what I would call a test drive for fear of wrecking it. I told no one. I just wrote the check and drove it home; broke. It was weather worn with patches of rust, and looked like the PO had run it into the ground. It needed everything done to it. I paid way too much for it. I didn't care. It was mine........I owned a Porsche 911. Long story short............after 10 years of maintenance etc., changing this and that, upgrading, back dating, and massaging, I now have "the" car. Its never been off the road for more than two or three months at a time, its cost way too much money that I don't have, and I still drive it like a little kid in a candy store. Best thing of all, I know every nut and bolt on the car and have taken a welding torch to it on several occasions to get it right. If I had waited I may have never gotten one. When someone looks at it these days and says, "nice car", I say "thanks" with the biggest grin ever. Don't wait. Get one. Get dirty with it. Drive it like you stole it. Then roll it into the garage and give it a little attention, you won't be sorry. Just my 10 years and $.02 worth.

If you are on the west coast you will easily find exc condition SC for 15K and under. If you had an excellent condition low miles SC listed on this board for 25K you would be waiting a looooooong time to sell.
