Talking Hershey Caravan Update

Hi All,

I will be contacting everyone that has replied to this, but wanted to give everyone a quick update and ask a question.

Since everyone is coming from a different area in the tri-state region, is it a fair assumption that we all want to get to Hershey Park before 10am? I was planning on setting up the first meeting point on the New Jersey Turnpike (first full service
area on the NJ TPK after picking up the ticket) at about 7am, but we can change this. I am setting up various pickup points in NJ on RT.78 for other people to meet us as we drive.

Also, some individuals voiced interest about bringing their respective significant others and children. Hershey Park is open for business according to their website (http://www.hersheypark.com/), but please verify this. Also, look at what they charge and make sure you want to spend your money on the entrance fee instead of Porsche parts... just kidding!

Please also note, that I talked to a friend of mine that knows a few State Troopers in New Jersey and as he was told... please tell your friends to keep their speeds down (72 in a 55 should be fine), since they will be out in force. Now, that
would make an entertaining photograph... 20 Porsches all in a line getting tickets. We could help beautify the state of New Jersey with the revenue they could make from us if we really put our foot down.

Any thoughts or ideas are always appreciated, so please don't hesitate to email me.

All The Best,

Marc Weintraub

Hi Marc,

I talked with the hotel manager at the Fairway Inn and he said if we wanted to meet in the parking lot there, it would be fine with him.

The gates open at 7:30 AM, so the earlier we get there, the better. Sounds like lots of people will be going. We can start out at the hotel and meet with other P-drives along the way.

Now, if someone in the Hershey area knows of a better location, then that'll work also. Need to have all the details worked out so that it can be posted on the BBS the day before the trip so everyone know what's going on.

I'll have my cell phone with me 678-300-2138 if anyone wants to get in touch with me.

Steve

HersheyPark is not open the weekend of April 20-21. It is open the previous weekend for a special event. Even if they wanted to be open, they couldn't since we will be using their parking lot! They usually open the first or second weekend of May for weekends only and open full time after Mem. Day.

This area(Harrisburg and vicinity) will be teeming with car enthusiasts as Spring Carlisle, Porsche Swapmeet and Hershey Hillclimb are all held on the same weekend. It will be great!

Thanks for the info on Hershey Park. Last year, the park was opened on the Porsche event weekend, but two years prior, they weren't. There event calender made no mention of being closed, so this really helps.

Thanks Again..

Josh,

Thanks for the info... I have noticed that as I get older the years start to blur together. Thank god for others with better memories or I wouldn't know what day of the week it is half the time.

The only reason I remembered that is because that was the forst time I heard the rumor about the Porsche/Harley bike....thought it a bit of a coincidence.

Let's hope for wonderful weather!!!!!

Yes... 7am is the time, unless there is a cry for more sleep from the masses. For those people that live in NYC, we can meet at 6:40am in the city by the Lincoln tunnel to make it out together.

The earlier the better! I hate weekend traffic.

BTW: Who is going from Hershey to Pocono (Metro PCA DE event) Saturday afternoon?
