thanks Rodsrsr, I'm glad to see some else like myself going that route , Now I drive her all the time, I've put on 6000 miles last year, and that was in the spring and summer. after removing the roll bar , racing seat ,harnesses , RS carpet and the one piece carbon dash , then adding 993 rear seats , RSA seats , plush carpet , radio , heat, console and a full 993 dash and the 993 standard seat belts front and rear and the sound proofing. all that added just under 100 pounds, What a difference, comfortable and quite.

When I feel the need for speed, in 2 hours , I just bolt in the roll bar and the race seats and harnesses and wheels and tires , good to go and have a safe time :) a wolf in sheep's clothing, if you can call a yellow 911GT look a sheep *( I'm also thinking painting her a steel gray met) it's been yellow for 16 years now,

Like the center console. I'll have to add it to my list for future projects.

+1... curious about this myself

heliolps2 01-23-2012 12:31 PM

Yes, Sorry

The heater controls are in the same as is the hand brake, there is a sliding panel that goes over them, its very simple , just slide back when you want to use the hand brake or the heater controls as for the seat belt receptacles , if you look closely at the picture of the cream covered piece you can see a slit on the side, when you put this console on top of your tunnel you just push the seat belt receptacles though the slits http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1327354236.jpg

I am a big guy. One thing I like is the space for splaying my right leg to the side when cruising with the original console on my 81. Your picture indicates you are not a 130 pounder Where does it hit your leg? I am thinking if halfway between ankle and knee would still allow "breathing" room for my bum knee.

I really like the looks of the contraption. :-)

heliolps2 01-23-2012 12:54 PM

I tried to high light the slit but I cant get it work right now, sorry , but if look closely there is horizontal slit where the leather and the carpet meets about 3/4 back, when in place , the console buts up against the trans tunnel , you can opt to bolt it down or not because it's a snug fit , it even helps with keeping the noise down that come through the tunnel,

Yes I would love to post more pic's of my car, enjoy
thanks

Helio,
Your car looks great!

My car is the third from the bottom in your first set of pictures. I've had the console in for almost 5 years and still love it. I updated my interior to a 993 look with 993 seats and door panels and the console pulled it all together. I didn't have to put the seatbelts through the console as the 993 seats have the recepticles attached to the seat.

mack6820 01-23-2012 04:23 PM

Helio, your car just made my little buddy wiggle a little bit, seriously :)
Beautiful ride!

heliolps2 01-23-2012 04:25 PM

Hey Mike,I hope you don't mind showing your pic, I have the 964 RS America seats they also have the recep attached to the seats. Did it seem to quite your cabin a bit ?

heliolps2 01-23-2012 04:29 PM

thanks Mack, I think :)

CabMike 01-23-2012 04:36 PM

No problem on the pic.

Mine is a cabriolet so I didn't notice much difference in noise.

One more time... lots of comments but no one will answer my question of what does something like this cost?

I looked on the website on the first post and they do not even show these consoles for sale, so no price shown...

I think it was around $500 when I purchased it. Seems high but if you consider the price of a 993 console and the modifications required to make it fit the price seems much better.

Agree - OP seems to have his own agenda and questions from the peanut gallery seem of no importance - unsubscribed.

Joeaksa 01-23-2012 05:47 PM

Mike,

Thanks much. So are you guys using the console from any year 993 or are there specific years that are better?

We have a couple of wrecking yards in this area that I might just have to keep an eye on.

Joe
