Unhappy Pelican Homepage Dummy

Help please...

Using publisher, I created a web page and uploaded it successfully to my Pelican homepage.

No problems for a few weeks. Yesterday I updated the site and thinking I'd be even more clever, I renamed each file on my harddrive before saving as a HTML file.

Then I went back to the Webhome Manager (at Pelican) to update the files. Actually I deleted all the old files, and then reloaded the new files with new names so I could know what each file was.

Problem was, I didn't get all the hyperlinks to work so I went back to the Webhome Manager (Pelican) and tried to delete the files and set it up again.

Now I get a message for every file each time I try to delete it saying;

'File name is invalid - go back and rename the file'.

Problem is I can't possibly remember all the individual file names for every photo, banner, hyperlink etc.

How can I delete these files that make up my web page before I reload (without changing the file names this time!)?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Cheers
Mark

the easiest thing to do might be remove the homepage from the host, then get it working again "off line" then upload it again. I know its sounds like a pain but renaming all the files and making sure your html tags are all closed , one by one can be really tedious... I made a web page for my friends business, and I have a copy of it on my hard drive, any change I make to the online sight, I make to my back up as well. I have 2 setr of of identical files, just in case of situations like your having...Im no pro at this kinda self taught

Thanks Tim, how do I remove it from the host (Pelican) though? Do I email them (Pelican) or what? I too have backup copies. These are the ones I made changes to and I have the original copy without the file name changes so it won't be any drama reloading, WHEN I manage to remove the old files.

Thanks
Mark
