I thought you bought some precision measuring tools before you did the rebuild (?)

There's no way I would have replaced the rod bearings without checking crank measurements against the Spec Book....no matter what they *looked* like.

One other thing.....did each rod cap go back on it's correct rod?

If you're interested, I can dig out a few paragraphs about "engine knocks" and what they may indicate, from a rebuilding manual I have around the shop.
