Radio Wiring Harness Adapter - '87 930
Hi,
I found that a radio wiring harness adapter from Crutchfield works with my stock harness that was connected to a Reno stereo. I was about ready to start cutting when I found this and decided to order it to see if it would work. Crutchfield does not currently include it if you are buying a stereo for an '87 so I'll see if I can get them to update their technical info. ![]() ![]() The part number is 120701822. Crutchfield refunded the purchase price of the adapter since it could have been included when I bought the stereo earlier (they only included speaker harness adapters when I bought the stereo). Hope this helps someone! Eric '87 930 |

I guess it will help, but it isn't crystal clear.....
Maybe I'm just dumb, however.

When I bought my stereo I was advised by Crutchfield that I would have to cut my factory power/ground wiring harness off, add connectors, and wire to my new Pioneer wiring harness. I didn't really like this option so I continued to search for a harness adapter so I wouldn't have to cut any wires.
In the pictures the white connector is the factory harness that connected to my factory Blaupunkt Reno stereo. The black connector is the harness adapter from Crutchfield which connects to the factory connector and provides wire leads that can be connected to the after-market stereo harness. So no cutting is required. Eric |

87Turbo, Thank you for the harness source!!
I just got a new receiver for my Carrera (Kendwood) and orded the harness you had listed above from Crutchfield, works beautifully! Don't know why Crutchfield doesn't include this with our model year Porsche even though I told them it works perfect and sent them this link. I got a pretty cheesy response saying,"looks like that guy made the harness work." I didn't really demand to be reinbursed for the $12 since I felt it was so nice not to cut my factory harness. I soldered the crutchfield harness to the aftermarket stereo harness, was like a 20min install for everything. For anyone who does not want to mess with the factory stereo harness but wants a modern receiver, this is the way to go. I am not huge on stereo stuff but it's nice to plug in the Ipod or listen to a CD for a change with a much more cleaner sound. |

How did you all get the speakers hooked up? I have a preamp source that has 8 pins in it. Is there an adapter out there for that? I have the harness noted above and hooked it up and get power, but no sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin
