That is a '52 MGTD in the background which I sold some time ago.
As I said above, my goal with this project is to create a '73 RSR clone, with some liberties taken, for the street. I do not intend to go overboard on stiffening the tub. I have the rear shock console reinforcements and the front strut tower brace from TRE. I do intend to keep it light with a spartan interior much like the original RSR's. I have reproduction RSR turnbuckle seats, Autoflug harnesses, early Momo race wheel, 10,000rpm tach, etc. All the sound deadening, undercoating, rocker shoot and seam sealer is gone. I have a early big valve 3-liter I am going to rebuild with Weber's, MSD ignition, aluminum flywheel, Kennedy clutch, and headers, all of which I have on the shelf. I have numerous other rebuilt or new parts on the shelf all ready to install once the tub is painted. It's largely an assembly project once the tub is completed. |
There's been a delay at the body shop, imagine that!

Arnage, I just looked @ your list of "on the shelf" parts, that should be a fun car once completed! I like the fact too that your intent is to build the clone with liberties taken.. you're building it to enjoy and that's a win!!
Funny, I too have stocked-up on a few parts over the years and have ended up building a couple of projects around what was "in stock." |
I finally did sell the project to Ed Callahan. I wish him the best and look forward to seeing the end result. I have moved on to an R-type build using a very nice '66 912 that already had a very well executed 911 2.2L conversion.
