Help! upgraded tensioners, missing parts

I recently put the upgraded carerra tensioners on my '72. The adapter oil line for the right side did not come with the cone ring or nut to attach it to the block. I have tried everywhere to find these parts and have had no luck. I can't find them in the pelican catalog and have had no luck going to hardware stores. When I say 'metric' they all just laugh and tell me good luck.
Can somebody suggest a source for these parts?
Regards,
John

When we did my son's '73 upgrade to the oil feed tensioners we had to order parts OEM from a Porsche dealer as Pelican, Performance, etc. didn't have the parts. I believe you need more parts than you have listed. There was an article in a Pano a few years back about this problem of fittings for the older cars. Did your oil pressure sender mount off a fitting captured under the hollow bolt that screws into the engine case or is it mounted at the front (clutch end) of the engine? Do you have air conditioning? These details matter. Post back and let me know if you want part numbers and further instructions. Jim

Thanks Jim, It is a plain 911T with no options. I went to the Porsche dealer and ordered the parts. Just got them after 3 weeks and they are too big in diameter. The extra parts are actually one part which is the oil line itself. I am sure after market but in any case it is longer than the original line. It is the only one that does not have the cone ring or nut on it, I have always nown these parts as 'farrels and farrel nut' but Porsche said they are called a cone ring. The 'adapter' line is long enough but without the ring and nut I can't attach it to the block. The newer engines have an adapter and sending unit mounted on the block and therefore make the line shorter.
Regards,
John

Will the standard size (like was on the original line) nut and ferrule work. If they will, Pelican has them; look under "oil circulation?" Ferrule: N020-825-1 @$1.60 and nut: I-104-003-02 @$1.10. Jim

This is interesting!

What sort of drones are packaging these tensioner kits for Porsche?

When I got my kit last year, it had several *extra* duplicate parts.
A friend of mine bought a kit around the same time, and his was *missing* the parts I had extras of. Go figure.

There never WAS a 'kit' from Porsche! That is why the parts numbers are listed individually in the Parts & Technical Reference!

Yes, the same ferrules and nuts as on your old lines work on the Carrera lines! In fact, you can reuse the old ones in an emergency if you cut the old line with a plumbing tubing cutter back behind the nut and slip them backwards off the tube ...

My tensioner "kit" came in a sealed box, labeled with a Porsche part number and trademarks.
Looked like a kit to my (novice) eyes.

Doug,

What I should have said was the '95 Parts and Technical Reference Catalog only shows 'left' and 'right' kits for '74-and-later engines, and another 'list' of additional parts required for '68 thru '73 engines!

Did your one 'kit' havw two kits inside? And, were the right-side adapter parts for '68 thru '73's included?

Warren,
Yes, there was right and left side parts in individual packages, all in one large box. Don't remember about the "adapter parts". As I recall, my kit came with all kinds of extra parts I didn't need. Some of them went to the friend I mentioned whose kit was short of needed pieces.
