This year's Rolex 24 is the 50th anniversary, with a fantastic entry list especially in the GT class:
GRAND-AM Road Racing - Official Web Site Porsche is well represented only in GT, thats OK but there will be fierce competition. Who is going this year? I was thinking about reserving a large table at Daytona Ale House Friday evening for a Pelican meet up dinner/social. There was a good turnout last year, let's make it an annual event. OK dinner meetup is set, 7:30pm Friday at Miller's Ale House http://www.millersalehouse.com/DAYTONA.htm

A couple familiar faces in that picture. In fact, I just spent the weekend there with one or two of them. I don't know what our schedule will be like, but if it's not too hectic I'd be interested in joining up.

Would like to attend, may be late as we have a dinner engagement with a supplier of ours.
Hoping for a bigger turnout than we had in that picture, but it was fun still! Cheers

I'd like to attend as well, but my Doc doesn't want me to walk that much after my recent foot surgery. I can't even sail my new boat yet! Have fun, should be awesome.

Of course everyone is welcome to stop by our garage and say "Hi". A couple of Pelicans will be there helping us out as well!
Cheers

I'll be in the garage with Jeff... just look for the two feet sticking out from under the car
![]() I would suggest Thursday night? Not sure how much of a party mindset i'll be in on Friday night... though a few beers might help me get to sleep a lot earlier than normal ![]() -Michael

In response to post #5 I offer Rodney Dangerfield in "Back To School" - Bring a pitcher of beer every seven minutes until someone passes out. Then bring one every 10 minutes...

Ken: drive your turbo to the race, I am not the only one who wants to see it! Secure parking for Porsche is at the PCA corral-fills up quick though.
Hotels: This is still Daytona tourist OFF-season, so most hotels away from the track will be reasonably priced. For years my father would get us a room at one of the many below average motor-inns on Ridgeway Ave. Sleep-shower then get back to the track, thats all we needed. This was just enough away from DIS that you could barely hear the motor music. Plus it was a quick drive to the beach, if desired. There are much better choices beachside, very few of these hotels fill up over the weekend. The hotels within a mile of the track (there are ten): Comfort Suites, Homewood Suites, Hilton Garden, Quality Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc. will fill up faster, have higher rates with multi night minimum stays. Expedia.com can be a big help here.
