Hi I am looking at buying a new carpet kit for my car. Why are German so much more $ than domestic, is it really worth the price, (not a show car)? Also do all these different companies get them from the same place? Will they all fit correct or are some better? Please post opinions of places you would/would not recomend.

Shawn,
Can't speak from experience, but I've heard the German kits are Much, Much better than the others. If you plan on keeping your car for awhile, I'd pop the extra bux. ------------------ -Richard '84 Carrera Cabriolet '74 911 Widebody 3.6 Project |

I installed a domestic last Christmas. Great fit and is holding up well. But then again, 6 months is not a very good indication of durability. Everyone else recommends German. I'm cheap, what can I say. Time will tell.

I replaced mine with the domestic kit sold by Original Fit. Research through archives here and on rennlist showed an equal split between praises and complaints about this company. But I was very impressed. Quality was good and the fit was excellent!!. Time will tell about durability but I think they will hold up just fine. It was the complete package including door pockets and rear seat backs. Not bad for $245. Took 3 weeks to get them though.
