SC front fixed quarter door window replacement?

had a go at replacing this evening with no luck

1. dropped the electric window right down.
2. undid the two screws at the top of the door frame which slightly loosens the pillar. This allows some slight give.
3. soaped/lubed up the rubber around the replacement glass & inner frame.
4. tried inserting at all angles.

any ideas or tips? Saw some ideas for the rear fixed glass (using the search) what about the front?

does the door panel need to come off to loosed the bottom of the pillar?

thanks
Greg

I helped a friend replace the front 1/4 window a couple years ago and he removed the window frame from the door.

door panel stuff off, frame out completely, then remove some screws to separate the pieces.

completed this today, wasnt too bad at all.

- i removed the two screws at the top of the door frame.
- removed some door interior door bits.
- remove the 5 plastic cap covers to reveal the 6 big door frame bolts. 2 at the inner front of the door, 3 on the back inner edge.
- remove all 5 big door frame bolts.
- this allows a fair bit of movement in the door frame now!
- lube up the new window rubber and window frame and slide in carefully, start by putting the window in from the outside of the car, put the front corner in first, then you can push down from on the top to slide the back corner in, hold onto the rubber seal so its even across the glass,
- reconnect up!
