Auxilary air valve
Can anyone tell me if the position of the valve is normal for a cold engine?
![]() Or must it be more open? Car is a 75 911 2.7L. Thanks Alex Last edited by Alex Wal; 01-30-2012 at 11:19 AM.. |

That is about where mine sits for my 81. It does not open all the way when cold.

AAR test.........
Typically, a good AAR would be about a quarter-moon opening or slightly lesser when stoned cold and would close completely after 3-4 mins. Or closed when engine is already warmed up. You could test the AAR either by using a 12-volt test and the oven test. What is important is that the AAR is partially open when cold and closes gradually afterwards. The closing time varies from model to model. If you could make it closes between 3-5 mins. after start, the AAR is working. Keep us posted.

Tony had me do the oven test on my 81 a while back. It took maybe 10 minutes to fully close. I did not do the 12 v test.
