Powdercoat my Fuchs ??????
My Fuchs are in need of some TLC and I was going to have them re-painted. I was contemplating buying wheel paint and supplies and doing myself or giving them to my body shop to be done. My friend was at a different shop so I told him to ask how much they would charge me to wet sand and prep them and spray them for me with a black satin finish and clear coat. Their recommendation was that they would only powdercoat them for me. My only finish choices are flat or glossy. Has anyone heard of powdercoating these kind of wheels. Of course I know what the process is just never heard of doing it to rims like this. Advice anyone???????

My centers are satin black power coated with polished lips. 5 years old and still win awards.

Don't powder coat the lug nut seats.

Powdercoating is a good option for Fuchs. A Pelican close to me had his done and they turned out fantastic.
If spending the dough is a problem, then you can easily DIY them. Some scuffing, Krylon sating black(or body color) paint, clear coat and you are done. I did mine last year in dull gray from black.

yes, this is important to remember whether you have them done or DIY them. the lug nut seats should be bare aluminum.

Sure but be sure to leave the seating surface bare.

Some wheel manufacturers suggest not to powder coat. Seems the coating thickness can mask incipient cracks. YMMV.
