OT: Free time in LA - Wher to go?

I'm in Santa Monica this week and just learned I have Sat. off. Anyone have any ideas where to go Porsche Parts shopping or just Porsche browsing?

Visit the Petersen Automotive Museum. Corner of Wilshire and Fairfax in L.A.

If I was in LA for the weekend, I'd round up Jack, Noststic Noah, Wayne Tom and the Boys and do a few pizza's and beers.

You might want to run up to my alma mater, Art Center, in Pasadena. Its the premiere car design school, and always has some very wild car sketches/ models in the gallery. Link here:

That also puts you in Pasadena, surrounded by good restaurants, bars, a very lively street scene, and scores of beautiful women.

Just a thought-

How about Sunday? Pomona swap meet on some weekends. Rock Store on Mulholland Hwy west of Malibu Canyon for some awsome twisties and bike action. (I haven't been there for a few years, but does it still rock?)

The Peterson, as Efrain said, is probably worth a trip. Just west of there on Wilshire and La Cienaga is Symbolic Motor Cars - walking distance. They usually have some unique Lotus or Bently or Ferrari worth fogging the window over. The Porsche dealer on Wilshire just down the block is not worth going into.

Maybe hang outside of the Santa Monica airport where Seinfeld keeps all his Porsches!

Otherwise, it's a nice spot of the world to see: Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, 3rd street promenade, driving up PCH (sorry, Pacific Coast Highway, or Highway 1) past Malibu where R&T does their test drives/photos. The Getty Museum is worthwhile, even from an architectural perspective, and on a clear day the views should be great. Of course my biased favorite is farther south: Newport Beach

Have a great time, and drop me a note if you need anything.

Don

Hit the Whiskey on the strip for some nightlife. Then, in the morning, head over to Barney's Beanery for some chow.
