Sebring vs. Bursch for 71' w/2.2 question
 

Moving from a dual outlet to a single on a 71' with a 2.2 and headers. The dual outlet really droned, and trying to make the car more "spouse friendly". Unfortunatley, I don't know anyone with either setup, so I need input on the sound. The Bursch is described as more "sporty sounding" by Pelican. Can anyone give me input on the sound of either one? Thanks in advance for any input!

I had a Bursch at one time and it is very loud. If you have MFI it also leans the mixture up too. The best setup and best tune for these , is the SSI headers and the stock muffler 2 in 1 out. The sport muffler 2 in 2 out gives a bit more top end HP but the torque suffers just a bit.

Here is my car with the 1973 SSI's and Bursch muffler. It had an '86 3.2l in the video, but it sounded very similar with the 2.4l. Sounds very sporty when you get on it. Regular cruising was noiser than stock, but not too bad. I find now that I am a bit older, if it were a daily driver I would go to a stock type muffler.

What do you mean leans it out? NOT my experience.

I have a Bursch on my 1973 with full RS 2.7. This exhaust is for 2.7 MFI and matches the engine perfectly. Great system. I highly recommend it.

A Dansk single outlet is a nice muffler. As with any muffler or intake change it's a good idea to check A/F to make sure you don't burn a valve or piston.
