911sc. Door central locking missing?

Hi,

I recently bought a 911sc from 1981. Immediatley after buying the car, I did a full repaint on it so they stripped down the car. Now that is finished I see that the car has no central locking (or at least it is not working). I can not remember if this was working when I bought it.

How could I find out if the car really has central locking and it is just disconnected?
My car has power windows and sunroof. To me looks quite rare not to have central locking.

Were all the SCs coming with central locking?

Regards

As far as I now no 911 SC came with central locking from the factory.

It can be retrofitted as I did this to my car. Its hooked up to the alarm so it locks and unlocks at a press of the button.
To check yours you'd have to take off the door trims and have a look. It pretty obviouse becaue you'd have a electric servo motor connected up to the locking mechanism.

Mine is a 1985. I am fixing a broken wire on my systems now. You don't have to take anything apart to see if the wiring is there. There is an easily accessible connector in the nose on the drivers side that cross connects the two sides of switches - wire colors are brown/green, brown/blue and ground. From there it goes to each door and the box (brains) which is in the nose on the passengers sidetucked up underneath against the side.

The wire loom to the door goes through the top most grommet in the door.

Take a looky see and maybe you can tell without taking things apart.

None on mine.

Central locking was not available on the 911Sc in 1981, so it would not have been present on the car when built. It's possible that an aftermarket system has been fitted but it should be pretty obvious if you have such a system or not. You'd have to either have a button in the car to activate it, or a remote control key fob.

It was still an option for our '86.

Central locks became available in '84 for the 3.2 Carrera.
