Clutch Pedal Spring
I'm in process of rebuilding(replacing) old pedal bushings w/bronze, everthing fit, works, & looks great,(thanx to Wayne's articles). My question is that the clutch return spring located on center shaft(70' 911) has a broken ear/tang & needs replacement. Locating one is becoming a part time job, but the real question is by visual inspection it appears the spring pulls the pedal off the stop/rest position. This seems to opposite of what I would assume the purpose would be and relieve any drag on linkage/cable. What is it that I'm not understanding?, does anyone know of a source for a new one?
Thanx in advance for any replies. Carl

Hello
The spring is mainly a noisekiller. It also helps a bit on pushing the clutch cable but later versions had a much stronger dead point assist spring. Grüsse |
