CIS, Who is the guru, what do i send him, what will I spend? Thanks

Hey guys it's been awhile but I need some advice. My '77 930 is running a little rougher and I would liike the piece of mind of a rebuilt CIS system. So my question is, Who is good at this, what do I need to remove and send to him, how long can I expect it to take and in conclusionwhat is it gonna run me? I will take care of new or cleaned injectors new seals etc.. I just want to know that the main system is solid. Thanks guys.

Not sure why you think there is a problem with your CIS. The parts of the system that are most likely to deteriorate over time and cause rough running are the injectors, which you can remove and clean yourself, or treat them in the car with Chemtool or one of the other fuel additives.

If you suspect a problem with some other part of the system, it's best to perform the diagnostics (such as control pressure readings) in the car. This way you get a picture of how the interrelated components are functioning together.

If you determine a component is malfunctioning, you can replace it with a new or rebuilt unit, but I wouldn't do that unless I had evidence that pointed to a defective unit.

Also keep in mind that rough running could be caused by something other than the fuel system. I'm not aware of anyone who does routine rebuilds of fuel injection components unless there's something wrong with them. Perhaps some one else will chime in, but IMHO, if it ain't broke, don't mess with it. If it isn't performing, diagnose the problem and zero in on the malfunctioning part. Good luck!
