71 Targa with Wide Rocker Decos & Wheel Well Trims

Were they a part of an "S" package or some other package?
I'm redoing a straight car that has only one wheel well trim left on and the thick decos. Just wondering what package this was a part of.

Thanks for any help
Rick

My understanding is that the wide deco on the rockers was part of the "S" package, but that the wheel arch chrome was a separate option. I have the wide deco trim on my 1971 911T that was delivered with S options. By the way, I am in Eastside Costa Mesa, (Santa Ana Ave&23rd), is that your neighborhood?

Hi Scott

Do you know what else came with the "S" package? That is what I'm after.

I'm off west 17th St in Costa Mesa
Come by and say hi.

I believe you are talking about the optional package that was called both “appearance group” and “comfort package” up thru mid 1971, when it seems to have settled on being called Comfort Package. It was optional on 911T, but standard on 911E and 911S.

The package included 911S instruments (oil pressure, oil level), covered steering wheel, wider rubber moldings on bumpers & below doors, chromed rocker strips, velour carpet.

My car is a T with S options and it came with a black engine grill and gold PORSCHE letters on rear deck. That might be part of the appearance package.

Here is a source for details on the 911 options 1970 911T Options

I have spent a fair amount of time on west 17th street... I always spent too much money over there!

My 70T came with S options. S instruments, padded leather wheel, velour carpet, wide rubber on bumpers f & r, alum rocker trim w/ wide rubber, rubber padded bumperettes, gold deck lid letters (silver grill), and front sway bar. It also came with leather luggage straps but I don't know if they were part of S option.
