UK Porsche Parts / Breakers - 911SC Speedo
So i managed to ignore / fail to follow carefully enough the odometer gear change instructions such that the needle came flying off the speedo half way through the exercise, sheering off from the assembly. I'm 99% certain i'm not going to be able to get the remaining (sheered off part) from within the assembly and so am working on the basis i'll need a new speedo.
with that in mind - it looks like the 911SC (82) speedo's are a breed to themselves - 160MPH. Will similar age speedo's from golf / sirrico work or am i stuck looking for a 911 breaker? Does anyone know of 80's 911 breakers in the UK? |

I would send an email to North Hollywood Speedometer. http://www.nhspeedometer.com/ They can probably repair it for less then a replacement. They do so much custom stuff that replicating unusual stock features would be nothing.
Also there must be VDO repair shops on your side of the pond. I would guess that one of them could do the same type of work. I would even ask NHS if there was a shop in England they could recommend.

Here in the UK for SC parts I have, amongst others, had good service from

There is a 911 breakers in Sandwich Kent, the guy sells parts on E bay i contacted him 3/4 weeks ago when i needed some parts and did ask about a speedo for my SC, he wanted £130 for it but with more important parts i needed i didn't go for it.
if i remember right his name is Brian and the number is 07956 911999. hope that helps. Dave. |
