Which brake pads to use for frequent DE use and some street use?

I am looking to replace pads with something well suited for track/DE use. Street performance is not as critical as DE performance. 10-12 DE days a year, 3k street miles a year.

P.O. had installed some sort of Carbon/Kevlar whatever pad in there I don't know what they are but they are not OEM. They work OK but are worn and I want your guys opinions on the better pads on the market.

Brakes

I used Porterfield R4S for the street car. Good stick when hot, give yourself 30% more braking distance when cold on the street, which is all the time.

You might also check the archives here: you ask 100 people their opinion about brake pads, you get 100 distinct opinions.

I have the Porterfields and agree with what John says. When they are warmed up they really bite, a remarkable difference over the 'rust' pads I had previously (on the same discs) the only downside is that they are very expensive.

For cost vs. performance, nothing beats the "Kool Kevlar" pads sold by Der Six Enterprises (they advertise in the back of Pano - look in the index of advertisers).
They squeal like hell, they make a lot of dust, but they don't fade on the track and they last forever. Best of all, they are only $75 an axle vs. the $150 + some others want.

I use PFC 90 for DE and MetalMasters for the street. Performance pads do not work very well when cold (i.e. street). It only takes about 30 minutes to switch pads. Plus street pads are much cheaper.

Also Hawk Blues are very good on the track as well.
