901 trans transplant
I have a 76 912e and I came across a 901 trans priced right it has issues I need to change the axle flanges to except a 8mm 6 bolt cv shaft. What year do I look for the trans number is 911/01 7104510 any help would be greatly appreciated. :

The 901 trans is longer than a 915 and you will have some interferrence problems with the tailpiece and the torsion tube/rear seat bottom areas. Not to mention the trans support bracket. Not impossible, just a massive PITA.
