I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but when the mechanic did the leak down test, did he listen to determine where the cylinder is losing air? If air can be heard passing through the muffler then you have a problem with exhaust valves, if air can be heard through the intake then you have problems with the intake valves. If both are silent then you have air passing past the piston rings. This helps to determine where the problem exists. Also, unless the valve adjustment is so overly tight that it's forcing a valve to be open at top dead center, a valve adjustment won't increase the percentage numbers... Loose valves will always be closed at top dead center unless there's a huge carbon build up on the valve or it's seat thus forcing it to remain open.

PPI Was done by Reid Vann Imports. Air was seeping through intake and exhaust. Now waiting on shipping to Vegas. Stoked!!!

I ALMOST bought an '87 white Carrera w/ bright red interior from out in L.A. but it had a million miles on it and some leaks. I passed on it, but I STILL think about that car. I'm envious.

Looks like the car is parked in Reid Vann's lot, that is THE place to take most exotics for work in Stl, so you did good there. People come from as far away as Minnesota to have RV work on their cars. Last time I was there a guy had towed his Testarossa up from Arkansas that morning (of course I enjoyed the fact that I DROVE my Carrera there).

I'm in St. Louis and don't think I've seen that car advertised anywhere around here. ( Thank God because I'm running out of excuses to keep all my p-cars as it is with the better half ). Reid Vann does a very good PPI ( they have done 2 for me in the past ) and always give an unbiased judgement, from my experience. Cars tend to sit all winter around here due to the ice/sleet/rain/ but not much snow anymore. Good to know it's going to a climate it can be enjoyed almost everyday. Get it and drive the wheels off it !!!
