Wink What's with all the hatred?

Porsche stuck in wet cement: Proof karma exists? | Motoramic - Yahoo! Autos
Funny story but, judging from the title and all the comments, 911 owners sure get a bad rap. If this had happened to a Prius, what do you think the comments would have been?

Had it been a Prius I believe the same type of comments would have been made by the haters of Priussss.

The person that drove into the wet cement was a knucklehead for sure but, because it was an exotic sports car, the jealous hater crowd comes out in a frenzy.

Unless the driver had a medical condition or was forced into the cement, I don't have a lot of sympathy for them. They are probably an a$$clown every day.

Garage
My 77 911 broke down on me a few weeks ago.

had one sexy lady offer to help me, and some dillhole drove by me and gave me the nelson "ha-ha" from the Simpsons.

I'm not a rich Porsche owner. I count pennies, that's how poor I am.

Porsche stuck in wet cement...

Just plain bad driving for that fella and glad no construction workers were injured with his/her brain cramp. That poor Porsche did not deserve such a bad operator...

If it was a "hybrid" getting stuck there, the comments will be more like these:

"This is a protest to decrease global warming and green house effect...we will stay here until the cows come home (location of accident: cow hollow/marina area)" --Occupy Sesame Street--

OR

"Got a tip...still searching for Jimmy..."

My response to the comments there..."don't be hating Porsche owners just because our cars are cool... (air cooled) "

PEACE CIAO

I saw it on Jalopnik.
Jalopnik thinks it cool to hate all, except themselves, of course. Really, ANYthing would have been ridiculed. A Prius? you betcha! A dude on a bike would have been reamed for being a hipster. It's their currency of trade.

Now if THEY think somethings cool, then it's "Your ridiculously Cool BMW 635 Wallpaper" or similar.

Truth be told, we Porsche owners do ourselves no favors. Sorry, but there are a lot of poseurs and wannabes amongst us.
Example, I race with the SCCA and a buddy who also races has a company that does trackdays. I help him instruct , and we were up at Watkins Glen one day, and headed into town for lunch, to the Subway. The Glen has a mandatory 1 hr closed track, so plenty of time for a bite.

Now, I'll admit I get a chuckle when I see some of the guys we get don the $1500.00 Sparco suit and driving gloves to run their Cayman around in the Novice or Intermediate group. but hey, I guess if they feel safer, fine. But, wearing that stuff to lunch? Really? Sorry, thats kinda poseur-esque.

Or the guy on the plane that chatted my girlfriend up on a flight, with me sitting next to her. He asks her where she was coming/going, then proceeds to tell her about his "racing". Turns out he "races Porsches", and told her how he was just at Lime Rock racing his, and won!. Too bad I knew the schedule, for the dates he referred to. He might have been on track, but he sure wasn't racing.

Now most of us on this forum seem to be much different in my experience..... but there ARE a bunch of bad apples out there, and it gives folks like Jalopnik all the ammo they need.
