Anyone know if polishing is a viable treatment for a sand pitted and wiper marked windshield?

first try what i did. take your wifes softscrub (it is for sinks and countertops) and a nylon dish scrubber and polish the windshield with that. it worked great.

replace it. waste of time trying to get the sandpits out. they're too deep.

I agree with John. You can get new replacement windshields very reasonable.

I third the replacement advice. If you have glass coverage on your insurance, your insurance should pick up the cost, less deduct. I had this same situation last year and just had the glass replaced.

The Eastwood Company sells glass polishing compounds and kits. I have never tried these, but intend to. Try this link and do a keyword search using the word windshield and you should find it;

Thanks for the replies. If there's a reasonably priced replacement windshield out there, I'd like to know where as the price for the C2 glass is pretty high as I understand it. I'll try the stuff under the sink first. I know I'll never get the pits out completely. I'd just be happy wit removing the wiper scrapes. Thanks again.
