Ground strap to nowhere?
Hmmm. Had my fan out and noticed a ground strap, about 4-5" long which is attached to one of the bolts that joins the crankcase halves. Trouble is, the other end goes nowhere, and I can't see a logical place for it. Can anyone tell me?

it grounds the alternator better than the housing to case contact area does, which often has corrosion on it. attach it to the nearest stud that holds the fiberglass air duct onto the rear of the alternator.

I'm playing around with this stupid image editing software.
I had to give up Photoshop when I switched to a PC (rather have the Mac..). This program came with the computer. Anyway, here's my rendition of where the ground strap goes: ![]() |
