Trailer transport of car I bought?

Guys,

I just bought what I hope is going to be a pretty sweet 964 track car. Coming with a 24' enclosed trailer. Problem is, it's in Colorado, and I'm in North Carolina.

Does anyone have experience with companies that would pick up and deliver a trailer that distance? I've been thinking of doing a road trip, I do have an F-250, but that's quite a distance. Alternatively maybe I could fly out, rent a truck, and drive back East? Perhaps the easiest though would be to have someone else do it.

If anyone has experience in trailer transport companies, can they drop me a note or comment here? Thanks.

I had a Porsche transportsd from San Francisco to VA (without the trailer) and cost $2K, then I sold a boat that shipped from VA to Louisianna and they charged the guy $2,500 to haul it there on the trainler that went with the boat. Either way it was costly. There are many websites that you can get pricing from. But I suspect you are looking in that range since they will be hauling a single car in your case.

Just went through this exact thing-993 in a 24' enclosed- and used uship. $1k from Phoenix to Denver
I also have the driver number that did it. If you book direct with him, it should be cheaper as they charge him 15%.
Let me know and I'll get his number.

Which car did you buy?

I shipped my 928 from Seattle to NJ last month using Thomas Sunday. Cost was just over $2000. I did post on uShip but it all seemed shady and nobody would guarantee the car would stay on the same truck for the entire trip. Also, I could not get confirmation that the truck would have a liftgate. In the end, I felt it was worth spending the money for a quality job.

This car is coming with its own trailer anyway, so I need someone to pull the trailer, not just load the car onto a transport and ship it.

I'll drive it there for you for $2k. You can even pay me after I show up with the car. Google maps say I could do it in a day with two drivers. Let me know...

Chicks -- maybe -- let me do a bit more homework first. What's the deal with insurance on a trip like this? Is it all on the driver? Do I need to make sure my comprehensive policy covers it? Anyone know?

The insurance on my truck covers anything towed, mine or someone else's. If you tow it yourself it will be covered by your tow vehicle, if you pay a pro, I imagine they have their own insurance for it. I have State Farm in Colorado, so your policy/state laws may be different. Call your insurance company and ask them.
